the continental hotel, a pretty good story:
the man who bought this hotel bought it based on the rumor that in the 1940s, when it was called the New York Hotel and owned by a Jewish family, the family's fortune was hidden in the hotel during WWII when they fled Romania. No one could find the fortune, and thought this man was foolish for buying the hotel. He searched the hotel top to bottom and couldn't find anything. Finally, he brought in metal detectors, and they found millions of dollars in gold bars buried in the concrete floors. The hotel remains closed, since the man only bought the building as a treasure hunt.
these two were blasting hip hop and making out both times i walked by, so for two hours.
